This scenario is putting the first aiders in the situation where they are called to an unresponsive patient and there is no apparent cause initially. If the team is trained in checking blood sugar levels they will find that the patient is hypoglycaemic. The first aiders are called by a bouncer in a student union bar to the toilets where has found someone lying in the toilets. It is fairly early in the evening and the bar hasn't been open long. The first aiders will find the patient on the floor inside a toilet cubicle.

The patient will stay unresponsive and breathing throughout unless they find the low blood sugar levels and something is done about it (for higher skill levels who are able to do something about it). The observations of the patient will stay fairly similar unless they take ages to request help in which case you could get the patient to start deteriorating. |

| Findings on examination: The patient will not have any injuries on a top-to-toe survey. They will be breathing but unresponsive. There is no blood or vomit on the floor or patient. No medic-alerts can be found on the patient. There is equal and good expansion on both sides of the chest. The abdomen is as normal. There are no deformities or swelling that can be found. The patient's skin colour is a bit pale and the skin feels like the patient has been sweating. The patient's breath does not smell as if they have had a lot of alcohol. |
